  • We are seeking an experienced Assembly Language Developer with expertise in IBM z/OS mainframe environments, legacy system modernization, and Core Record Layouts (CRL). The role involves supporting extraction of business rules from legacy code, assisting in code conversion to modern platforms, and maintaining mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, maintain, and enhance legacy IBM z/OS assembly code.
  • Extract business rules from assembly code and assist in code conversion efforts.
  • Work with Core Record Layouts (CRL) and QSAM/VSAM data formats to support data processing.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure accurate interpretation and migration of legacy logic.
  • Utilize CA Endevor SCM for version control and release management.
  • Leverage BMC Control-M for job scheduling, workflow automation, and monitoring batch job execution.

Required Skills / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of IBM z/OS assembly language: instructions, addressing modes, data manipulation, and JCL.
  • Familiarity with IBM mainframe architecture, including storage hierarchy, system calls, and interrupt handling.

Experience with CRL and QSAM/VSAM data formats.

  • Proficiency with CA Endevor SCM and BMC Control-M.
  • Strong understanding of mainframe development tools (debuggers, assemblers, linkers, utilities).
  • Familiarity with DB2 and other legacy data storage formats.
  • Basic understanding of Java programming and ability to map assembly logic to Java constructs.
