Job Summary: The Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II is responsible for supporting invasive cardiovascular and electrophysiology procedures by functioning as a scrub technician in a high-acuity Cath/EP Lab environment. This role requires proficiency across a wide range of diagnostic and interventional procedures, ensuring patient safety, procedural efficiency, and adherence to sterile technique while collaborating with a multidisciplinary clinical team.

Schedule: Full-time, weekdays 6:30a–5p with one variable weekday off per week. On-call required: 1 weekend per month (5p Friday–6:30a Monday) and 4 weeknights per month (5p–6:30a next day). No weekend commitment outside of on-call.

Responsibilities

  • Scrub and assist in a variety of procedures including cardiac catheterizations, peripheral vascular interventions, structural heart procedures, and electrophysiology studies
  • Maintain sterile field and ensure proper handling of instruments and equipment
  • Prepare procedure rooms, instruments, and supplies prior to cases
  • Assist physicians during invasive procedures with accuracy and efficiency
  • Document procedures accurately; familiarity with Merge Hemo system preferred
  • Monitor and respond to patient and procedural needs during cases
  • Participate in on-call rotation, including weekday nights and weekend coverage
  • Adhere to all patient safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare
  • professionals Requirements
  • Minimum 1–2 years of Cath Lab or EP Lab experience
  • Demonstrated ability to scrub for a wide range of cardiovascular and electrophysiology procedures
  • Strong understanding of sterile techniques and procedural workflows
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team-oriented environment
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills
  • Ability to meet physical demands including standing for extended periods, wearing lead aprons, and assisting with patient movement

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Graduate of an accredited Allied Health program such as

  • Cardiovascular Technology
  • Radiologic Technology
  • Respiratory Therapy
  • Exercise Science
  • Cardiac or Vascular Sonography
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certifications
  • BLS (BCLS) required
  • ACLS required
  • License
  • RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) preferred
  • RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist) preferred
  • ARRT (Radiologic Technologist) with Cardiac Interventional (CI) or Vascular Interventional (VI) accepted
