  • The Cardiac Catheterization Technician assists physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures by performing technical and patient care tasks in the cath lab. This role supports complex cardiovascular procedures, maintains sterile environments, and ensures equipment and supplies are prepared for safe and efficient patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
  • Support procedures including vascular and interventional radiology studies, coronary stenting, percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), atherectomy, peripheral angioplasty, carotid angiograms, iliac angiograms, renal angiograms, and triple lumen catheter placements.
  • Prepare, maintain, and operate specialized cath lab equipment and imaging systems.
  • Monitor patient status during procedures and assist with patient preparation and post-procedure care.
  • Maintain sterile fields and adhere to infection control and safety standards.
  • Perform laboratory administrative duties including documentation and supply inventory management.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and cath lab staff to support efficient workflow and patient care.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent Cath Lab experience required.
  • Two (2) years of full-time experience in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology required.

Experience assisting with complex interventional cardiovascular procedures.

  • Ability to remain on-site for late cases if procedures extend beyond scheduled hours.
  • On-call participation required.
  • Electrophysiology experience preferred.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
