  • The Mental Health Clinician provides mental health assessments, diagnosis, and treatment services for adults with behavioral health conditions, substance use histories, and severe mental illness. The clinician collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care and support treatment planning within a correctional healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations for patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans addressing behavioral health and substance use disorders.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions and counseling for adults experiencing severe mental illness and behavioral challenges.
  • Document assessments, treatment plans, and patient progress in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and treatment goals.
  • Maintain compliance with correctional facility protocols and healthcare regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be local and able to travel to the correctional facility.
  • Ability to account for travel time and navigate security procedures and access gates.
  • Completion of onboarding requirements with the facility.

Experience diagnosing and treating patients with behavioral problems, substance use histories, and severe mental illness.

  • Preference for candidates with experience conducting both clinical assessment and treatment with adult populations.
  • Inpatient or related behavioral health experience preferred.

Education

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
