- Seeking a Registered Nurse to provide nursing interventions, medication administration, and comprehensive patient care in a juvenile correctional setting. This role requires expertise in wound and ostomy care and strong clinical judgment to support optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct medication administration and maintain general medical inventory, including controlled substances.
- Assess, plan, and implement care for patients with complex wounds (pressure injuries, surgical wounds, ulcers).
- Provide specialized wound and ostomy (colostomy) care and management.
- Monitor healing progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Review overall health conditions and prepare/evaluate nursing intervention plans.
- Participate in staff trainings and maintain infection control standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
- Prepare required clinical and administrative reports.
- Serve as a member of the facility's medical treatment team.
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New York State.
- Minimum 2 years of medical/surgical (Med/Surg) experience.
- Hands-on experience in wound care and colostomy/ostomy management.
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
