- We are seeking a highly experienced Programmer Analyst 6 to support the State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services through DTMB. This role involves working as a senior developer and analyst in an Agile team to support maintenance, operations, and security of the Database Security Application (DSA), along with contributing to ongoing modernization and development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in technical architecture discussions and modernization initiatives
- Balance workload: ~40% new development & enhancements, ~60% maintenance & bug fixes
- Design, develop, and maintain ASP.NET MVC applications and Web APIs
- Build APIs using JSON, Swagger, REST/SOAP services
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps with Git-based version control
- Enhance UI using JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, and Telerik UI
- Create and maintain Crystal Reports
- Optimize and tune SQL queries and database performance
- Use Visual Studio for development, debugging, and deployment
Required Qualifications
- 9+ years of experience with C# and .NET Framework 4.8
- Hands-on experience with modern .NET (.NET Core / .NET 8 / .NET 10)
Strong expertise in SQL Server 2019, including
- SSIS package development
- Complex queries & stored procedures
- Performance tuning
Experience with API testing tools: Postman, SoapUI
- Automated UI testing experience with Selenium
- Strong knowledge of design patterns (Repository, Factory, Dependency Injection)
- Solid understanding of SOLID principles & clean architecture
- Expertise in secure coding practices (XSS prevention, SQL injection protection, logging)
Experience with unit testing frameworks (NUnit / xUnit)
- Ability to build scalable, maintainable systems
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in cross-functional teams with system integrations
- Strong background in Agile/SCRUM methodologies
