  • Provides specialized nursing care within the Interventional Radiology (IR) department, supporting minimally invasive procedures. Responsible for patient assessment, procedural assistance, and post-procedural monitoring while ensuring adherence to radiation safety and clinical best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care before, during, and after interventional radiology procedures
  • Assist physicians during IR procedures, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety
  • Monitor patient vitals and response throughout procedures and recovery
  • Administer IV medications and contrast agents as required
  • Implement radiation safety protocols for both patients and staff
  • Provide post-procedural care, including monitoring for complications and patient education
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EPIC preferred)
  • Float to other units as required based on departmental needs

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Interventional Radiology nursing experience
  • Minimum 2 years of overall RN experience

Experience in ambulatory care, radiation safety, and post-procedural recovery

  • Strong IV therapy skills
  • Ability to perform in high-acuity procedural environments

Experience with stress test performance preferred

  • EPIC EMR experience highly preferred
  • Floating required as needed

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
