- Provides specialized nursing care within the Interventional Radiology (IR) department, supporting minimally invasive procedures. Responsible for patient assessment, procedural assistance, and post-procedural monitoring while ensuring adherence to radiation safety and clinical best practices.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care before, during, and after interventional radiology procedures
- Assist physicians during IR procedures, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety
- Monitor patient vitals and response throughout procedures and recovery
- Administer IV medications and contrast agents as required
- Implement radiation safety protocols for both patients and staff
- Provide post-procedural care, including monitoring for complications and patient education
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EPIC preferred)
- Float to other units as required based on departmental needs
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Interventional Radiology nursing experience
- Minimum 2 years of overall RN experience
Experience in ambulatory care, radiation safety, and post-procedural recovery
- Strong IV therapy skills
- Ability to perform in high-acuity procedural environments
Experience with stress test performance preferred
- EPIC EMR experience highly preferred
- Floating required as needed
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
