- Provides specialized nursing care in the Interventional Radiology (IR) department, supporting minimally invasive procedures. Responsible for patient assessment, procedural assistance, and post-procedure monitoring while ensuring adherence to radiation safety and clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care before, during, and after IR procedures
- Assist physicians during procedures, maintaining sterile technique and safety
- Monitor patient vitals and response throughout procedures and recovery
- Administer IV medications and contrast agents
- Follow radiation safety protocols for patients and staff
- Provide post-procedure care, monitor for complications, and educate patients
- Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems (EPIC preferred)
- Float to other units as required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology nursing experience
- Minimum 2 years of overall RN experience
Experience in ambulatory care, radiation safety, and post-procedure recovery
- Strong IV therapy skills
- Ability to work in high-acuity environments
- Stress test experience preferred
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Willingness to float as needed
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
