- Provides specialized nursing care in Interventional Radiology (IR), supporting minimally invasive procedures. Responsible for patient assessment, procedural assistance, and post-procedural monitoring while following clinical and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care before, during, and after IR procedures
- Assist physicians during procedures, maintaining sterile technique and patient safety
- Monitor patient vitals and responses during procedures and recovery
- Administer IV medications and contrast agents as required
- Implement radiation safety protocols for patients and staff
- Provide post-procedural care, monitor for complications, and educate patients
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EPIC preferred)
- Float to other units as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Interventional Radiology nursing experience
- Minimum 2 years of overall RN experience
Experience in ambulatory care, radiation safety, and post-procedural recovery
- Strong IV therapy skills
- Ability to perform in high-acuity procedural environments
Experience with stress test performance preferred
- EPIC EMR experience highly preferred
- Floating as required
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
