- Provides comprehensive nursing care to obstetric patients during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum periods. Ensures safe, evidence-based care while monitoring maternal and fetal well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using clinical assessments and fetal monitoring
- Assist physicians and midwives during labor and delivery
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and support epidural procedures
- Provide immediate postpartum care to mother and newborn
- Educate patients and families on labor, recovery, and newborn care
- Respond to obstetric emergencies with appropriate interventions
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow safety and quality standards
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Postpartum care experience required
- Strong skills in obstetric emergencies and fetal monitoring
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Interview required prior to offer
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
