- The Oncology Registered Nurse provides specialized care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, including chemotherapy and related therapies. This role focuses on patient assessment, care coordination, and management of oncology-specific treatments in a clinical setting.
Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and oncology treatments per established protocols
- Perform patient intake, assessments, and ongoing monitoring
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effects, and symptom management
- Monitor patient responses to treatments and identify adverse reactions
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems
- Ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Oncology experience in hospital or outpatient settings
- Minimum 2 years of overall RN experience
- Strong patient intake and assessment skills
Experience administering chemotherapy treatments
Experience in medical oncology care
- Familiarity with EMR systems preferred
