Sr Data Engineer

• At Cotiviti, we act as custodians of critical client data. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who will play a key role in data management, integration, quality, and security. This role involves troubleshooting data issues, backend support, and building scalable data solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute complex SQL/PL-SQL queries for data validation and management Lead data mapping, transformation, validation, and ingestion workflows
• Monitor and ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability Design and implement scalable and secure data architectures Support production configurations and data services Collaborate with product owners, analysts, and engineering teams
• Create and maintain SOP documentation Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and architecture discussions Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices
• Engage with clients and stakeholders as needed Provide after-hours/weekend support when required Ensure compliance with data security and governance standards
• Manage tasks using ticketing tools and meet deadlines

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering and data analysis
• Strong experience in healthcare data (enrollment, medical claims, pharmacy claims preferred)
• Advanced hands-on expertise in SQL / PL-SQL

Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4j)

• Knowledge of cloud & big data technologies (Databricks, AWS, Azure, Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake)

Experience with JIRA and Agile methodologies (preferably SAFe)

• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in team environments

Preferred Skills

Experience with large-scale healthcare data platforms

• Exposure to modern data pipelines and distributed systems
