Job Summary
- Seeking an experienced CT Technologist to perform CT scan procedures utilizing prescribed imaging techniques and protocols in a fast-paced acute care environment. The technologist will perform diagnostic imaging procedures for adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patient populations while ensuring quality imaging, patient safety, and accurate documentation. First-time travelers will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Perform CT scan procedures using prescribed imaging techniques and protocols
- Review imaging requisitions for accuracy and completeness
- Select appropriate CT protocols and technical factors for optimal image quality
- Perform scans for various anatomical regions and pathological processes
- Administer and document IV and oral contrast media
- Complete screenings, consents, and image documentation in Cerner
- Scan and upload required paperwork into the EMR system
- Start peripheral IVs as needed
- Collaborate with radiologists and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Maintain patient safety and quality standards during imaging procedures
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of CT Tech experience required
- Cerner experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
Experience with
- Abdomen and pelvis imaging with and without contrast
- Chest imaging with and without contrast
- Head and neck imaging
- Spine and musculoskeletal imaging
- Vascular CTA
- Brain perfusion
- Coronary CTA
Experience in
- Adult acute care
- Adult outpatient settings
- Emergency Department
- Pediatric acute care
- Adult ICU
Experience with GE, Siemens, and PACS systems preferred
- Operating room, NICU, and PICU experience preferred
Certifications
- ARRT (R) required
- BLS required
- ARRT Advanced Certification preferred
- License: Maryland License required
- Facility Details
- Acute care imaging environment serving adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients
- Performs diagnostic and specialized CT procedures
- Uses Cerner EMR and PACS imaging systems
Special procedures may include
- Aspirations
- Biopsies
- Colonography
- CT arthrography
- Drainage procedures
- Myelography
PET CT
- Transplant studies
- Trauma experience preferred including Level I and Level II Trauma Centers
