- We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to operate advanced magnetic resonance imaging equipment and produce high-quality diagnostic images. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety and care in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Key Responsibilities
- Perform MRI procedures in accordance with established protocols and physician orders
- Position patients and imaging coils to ensure optimal image quality
- Educate patients on MRI procedures, safety, and expectations
- Review and verify patient safety screening questionnaires prior to scans
- Evaluate image quality and ensure diagnostic standards are met
- Transmit images to PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) in a timely manner
- Manage and document studies within Radiology Information Systems (IDX preferred)
- Maintain accurate patient records and tracking information
- Ensure cleanliness and proper functioning of MRI equipment and suite
- Monitor inventory and maintain necessary imaging supplies
- Assist physicians during specialized procedures as needed
Schedule imaging exams and support workflow coordination
- Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly
- Enforce MRI safety standards, including prevention of ferromagnetic hazards
- Adhere to infection control and patient safety protocols
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
- Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of MRI technologist experience
- Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, and MR physics
- Hands-on experience with PACS and Radiology Information Systems (IDX preferred)
- Excellent patient care, communication, and technical skills
- Ability to maintain strict safety and quality standards
Education
- Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Certifications
- ARRT (MRI Certification required)
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- Licensure
- Active New York State License in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology
- NYS Department of Health (DOH) Radiography License (required)
- Work Environment
- Hospital-based imaging department
