Job Summary: The Radiology Tech / X-Ray Tech performs diagnostic imaging procedures across multiple clinical settings, including ER and OR environments. This role requires strong technical expertise in trauma imaging, portability, and patient care across diverse populations, ensuring high-quality imaging and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures in assigned areas such as ER and OR
- Conduct portable imaging for patients, including young and geriatric populations
- Operate radiologic equipment including GE systems, Carestream, and OEC C-Arms
- Ensure proper patient positioning and image quality for accurate diagnosis
- Maintain radiation safety standards and adhere to all regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to support patient care
- Document procedures accurately using Cerner or equivalent EMR systems
- Maintain equipment functionality and report any issues as needed
- Provide patient education and ensure comfort during procedures
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Radiology/X-Ray Tech experience
- Required experience in Level I or Level II Trauma settings (ER, inpatient, outpatient, or OR)
- Experience performing portable imaging studies
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with:
- GE imaging systems
- Carestream
- OEC C-Arms
- Cerner EMR
- Commitment to continuing education requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ongoing continuing education required to maintain licensure
- Certifications: BLS (Healthcare Provider) required License
- ARRT (RT) – Registered Radiologic Technologist (required)
- Advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or registry-eligible
- Facility Details
- Facility: Ascension St. John Hospital
- Acute care hospital with trauma services
- Assignments may include ER and OR settings
- No on-call requirement
- Exposure to a wide range of patient populations and imaging modalities
