Principal Full Stack Engineer

Summary

• Randstad is seeking a Principal Full Stack Engineer to join a high-performing IT Application Solutions team. This role will act as a technical leader and architect, driving the design and development of enterprise-grade API platforms and scalable web applications within a SAFe Agile environment. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Java, Python, AWS cloud services, and modern front-end technologies, along with a strong background in DevOps and system architecture.

• Key Responsibilities
• Lead the architecture and design of scalable API platforms and enterprise web applications
• Develop and maintain full stack solutions using Java (J2EE) and Python
• Build modern, responsive UI applications using Angular and IONIC

Design and implement AWS-based cloud solutions, including

• Lambda, ECS Fargate, Step Functions, DynamoDB
• API Gateway, S3, EC2, Kinesis Streams
• Develop and manage REST and SOAP APIs for enterprise integrations
• Participate in SAFe Agile ceremonies (PI Planning, Iteration Reviews, Sprint Planning)
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Docker and CloudFormation
• Drive CI/CD and DevOps best practices for automated deployments
• Provide technical mentorship and leadership to development teams
• Ensure adherence to SDLC best practices and enterprise architecture standards

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in full stack development and system architecture
• Strong expertise in Java (J2EE: Hibernate, Servlets, JMS, JDBC) and Python
• Proven experience building REST and SOAP-based web services
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (Lambda, ECS, S3, API Gateway, EC2, DynamoDB, Kinesis)

Experience with Angular and IONIC frameworks

• Strong knowledge of Docker and CloudFormation (IaC)

Experience working in a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment

• Strong understanding of concurrent programming and scalable system design
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment (Washington, DC)

Nice to Have

Experience with API Gateway / API Management platforms

• Prior experience in enterprise-scale API platform development
• SAFe certification or formal Agile training
