Summary
- We are seeking a Jr. QA Tester/Analyst to support the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) in executing end-to-end testing lifecycle activities. The candidate will be responsible for test planning, execution, defect tracking, and UAT support while working in an Agile environment. The ideal candidate will have experience testing custom applications and GIS components, along with prior experience working with state/public sector clients (mandatory).
- Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for custom applications
- Perform manual and/or automated testing, including system, regression, and performance testing
- Test GIS components and applications
- Analyze test results and log, track, and manage defects
- Create and maintain Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM)
- Review and analyze business and system requirements (BRD, SRD, design docs)
- Support and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including preparing test scenarios and instructions
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, PMO, developers, and vendors
- Participate in defect triage meetings, Agile ceremonies, and demos
- Provide weekly status reports to QA leadership
- Ensure testing activities are completed on time and within scope, highlighting risks and issues
- Prepare test data and validate results
- Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in QA Testing / Software Testing
Experience testing custom applications and GIS systems
- Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and SDLC
Hands-on experience with
- Test case creation and execution
- RTM documentation
- Defect tracking and management tools
Experience supporting UAT activities and business users
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Experience with GitHub and ServiceNow
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience working with State/Public Sector clients (MANDATORY)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field
Nice to Have
- Exposure to test automation frameworks
Experience in mobile device testing
- QA Certifications (CAST, CSTE, CSQA, CMSQ)
